Are Wide Leg Trousers In? Skinny Out?

Are skinny jeans out and wide leg trousers in? Honestly, I hope not. (And I’m not just saying this because I have dozens of them.) But I am sure glad that I can add some other pant shapes to my ever growing bottoms collection. The skinny leg pants have been the crave for the last couple of years. However; recently there have been more and more models wearing loose/relaxed fit and baggy shapes, like we did in the 90s. And this year, I’m here for it!

Why High-Waist Wide Leg?

I can hardly get enough of my high-waist wide leg trousers. I bought one pair two years ago and last year I found myself buying three more. These have definitely become a staple in my wardrobe. Every time I wear them, I receive tons of compliments. Not only do they elongate the legs, but that also accentuate your best assets, if you know what I mean 😉. Because they’re high waist, these pants are very slimming in the waist and also very form fitting around the hips. Perfect for every woman as they accentuates the hour glass figure.

Is This a New Trend?

The silhouettes of these pants aren’t new by far. They’re definitely reminisces of the 70s bell bottoms and 80s high waist. I can even remember wearing the wide leg pants at least 10 years ago. It was definitely my pant shape of choice for work in high school. Well, those and the flare/boot cut. So far my favorite pair are these here, of which I purchased from Express about two years ago. But lucky for you guys… they’re back!! This week they’re buy one get one. So hurry up! Go ahead and buy them in all colors.

I absolutely love the fact that these wide leg trousers have pockets and belt loops. Don’t know about you but pockets are like a safety blanket for me. I talk a lot with my hands, so whenever I have to speak at a meeting, I wear these. Not only because they’re tres chic… but because I can also place my hands in my pockets while maintaining confidence. And the belt loops? Definitely the most important characteristic. It adds a more slimming effect to the waist. Why not cinch that girl in as much as possible?

What about the Spring?

When Spring does finally decide to show up, I plan on purchasing a couple of wide leg coo-louts. Ladies, I foresee these being a strong competitor to those skinny ankle pants that we all love, and right on trend for 2019. Recently, I have seen some bold prints and colors that are also right on trend. I can’t wait to pair them with a crop top, a tucked tee, or a bodysuit.
