Ode to my Favorite Winter Pieces Before Spring!

So its almost the end of February. In Georgia, that means it’s nearing the end of Winter. I am a very cold-nature person, so needless to say, Winter is not my favorite season. However; I have definitely grown to love Winter fashion. So before it’s officially Spring, I’d like to do an ode to my favorite winter pieces.

The Body-Con

No matter Winter, Spring, Summer, or Fall, there’s always room in my closet for that body con dress. I am a curvy woman, who loves to show them off. So when I stumbled upon this spiced colored midi dress on Boohoo I just had to buy it. And I am so in love; I loved it so much, that I actually purchased the same dress in black. The dress has a mock turtleneck and a ribbed design pattern. It is very figure flattering. I purchased this dress in a size 6… And even more exciting news!! Its now on sale for only $15!!

This dress can be dressed up with the classic pump, cute booties, or even worn with over the knee boots to provide added warmth in the winter months. I have even worn this sneakers and a jean jacket. Needless to say, I am not looking forward to retiring this piece just yet.

“Woman” Winter Sweats

I don’t know many women who wouldn’t want to wear sweats all day, all week, and all seasons long. And I am definitely NOT the exception. I could basically live in my sweats, if it were an option. I mean, I have more sweats than I do pajamas. So while scrolling through the Boohoo I saw this and of course, I had to purchase this dress. (Psst. It’s also less than $20). For this price, it did not disappoint.

It’s warm, it’s comfy, and it’s fashionable; triple whammy right? I bought it in a size medium to give it a more casual over-sized feel. The sweatshirt also has slight distressing at the hem. And most importantly, it really feels like I’m wearing my husband’s sweatshirt…. easy like Sunday morning. This is definitely a roll over and go complete outfit.

I would normally throw on this dress with some tennis and my favorite “Street Chic” denim jacket for my Saturday Target run. (Did I mention, I absolutely love this jacket? I came really close to giving it its on section here) Most recently, as a Saturday Brunch ootd, I paired it with my black flat over-the-knee boots. For me, these are like my tennis shoes as far a comfort but they do add warmth and they just complete the look.

Just because it’s Atlanta, and you never know what you’re going to get into, I keep a pair of heels in the car. For dinner and a movie, I made a quick change of the shoes and opted for my over-the-knee Cole Han boots. Both shoes are really comfortable. I wouldn’t dare dream of ruining my comfy look with fashionable uncomfortable shoes? Qu’est que c’est “duh”?

My Favorite Accessory

For the last few Winters I find myself obsessing over one accessory. Each year there’s one item in every online shopping cart of mine, it’s on my wish list, and I’ve told every relative inquiring. Last year, it was this sleeveless cardigan. I stumbled upon it while shopping on my lunch break. Yes, I had to get creative last year and shop whenever I could. So I’ve basically purchased and gifted them in every color imaginable.

I have legit thrown this on atleast once a week throughout the winter. You can wear it over a body con dress for a more appropriate outfit for church. I’ve even worn it over a pair of black skinny pants and a black turtleneck with my pumps for a night out in NYC. As you can see, this one accessory gives you options. Oh yeah, and it’s really warm. You can wear it as a vest, a shawl and even a there’s even more options that I can’t describe at the moment… for lack in word choice 😐. It’s the middle of the week, give me a break.

Fave Fox Sweater Outfit

Fox sweater J.Crew

There’s really not much I can say about this fox sweater from J. Crew. To sum it up, there’s not much to it. But it’s just adorable isn’t it? And it pairs well with absolutely everything!

I’ve worn it with jeans, sweats, skirts, shorts, leggings, dress pants, trousers; pretty much with any bottom clean in my closet. I’ve added scarves, jackets, and at times no accessories at all.

Above, this is hands down so far one of my favorite looks for any Saturday outing. Rather it’s grocery shopping, brunch, shopping, family day, to date night; this outfit goes.

I’ll definitely have to find another “go to” outfit for the Spring and soon. I don’t know how much longer this Georgia weather is going to give me.

PS … there’s always a song lyric in my head for each outfit I wear. It’s usually whatever I’m listening to while getting dressed.
