July Favorites

I couldn’t think of a better way to end the month of July and celebrate my return to blogging than by sharing a few of my favorite things with you! Most of these products are things that I discovered or began using during the month of July, but I have a feeling they’ll be around for a while to come! My hope is that this will be come a regular monthly post, but if you want to see what I’m loving now, keep reading!

1. Glory Cloud Whipped Soap

First up is a body product. I absolutely love bubble baths, bath bombs and things that smell good. Problem is my severe allergies and sensitive, eczema prone skin do not. We are constantly at odds about what I choose to put on my skin. One thing we have all been able to agree upon lately are these wonderful whipped soaps from Glory Cloud. Two months ago I had no idea whipped soap was even a thing, but now I’m telling everyone who will listen about this product.

After reading the founders story and learning that this company was born of her own struggles with eczema and sensitive skin I decided to give them a try. It’s also a huge plus that their products are all natural. I use my whipped soaps in the tub and shower, but they are marketed as safe to use on your face as well. My favorite scents are Almond, French Macron, Butt Naked, and for when I’m feeling wild and crazy, Fruity Pebbles. This fragrance is so spot on, you will be tempted to bust out your spoon! They have so many options, you’re sure to find something to tickle your fancy. Each soap also has a matching body butter and scrub. I have yet to try these products, but they’re on my list and I wouldn’t be surprised if they made an appearance on a future favorites list. 2. Smoked Salmon Bagels

So this next one is a little different…this summer I spent a bit of time in Louisiana. While I was there I spent a lot of time searching for recipes on Pinterest, cooking, eating and grocery shopping. One day while looking for breakfast ideas, I came across a photo of Lox and Bagels. For some reason the image stuck with me. When I returned home I decided to try it. I made it the first morning and while it was tasty it was a bit bland. It needed a little something extra. The next morning I added a little bit of Everything But the Bagel Sesame Seasoning and it was perfection.

This is in no way an original idea as there are a million different “recipes” for Smoked Salmon Bagels on the internet. This is just how I like mine.

  1. Lightly toast your bagel.
  2. Spread a layer of cream cheese on one half of your bagel.
  3. Sprinkle Everything but the Bagel Sesame Seasoning on top of cream cheese.
  4. On the opposite half of your bagel, place a few slices of avocado.
  5. Top the avocado with your smoked salmon or lox.
  6. Smush the two halves together and enjoy!

Give it a try and let me know what you think!

3. Beauty Counter Counter+ All Bright C Serum

This next July favorite is a product I’ve only been using for the month of July. Obviously I have not seen any dramatic results from the All Bright
C Serum
, yet. That being said, I do like the way it makes my skin look and feel when I apply it, and it seems to work well with my sensitive, reactive skin. This product is pricey, but I was convinced to give it a try after seeing the amazing results that others were able to achieve. My skincare routine has changed a bit since my last post, so look for an update on this product and my new routine soon!

4. Smile Natural Oral Care Products

The fourth item on my July favorites list is a group of products. Recently I’ve become more mindful of the ingredients in the products I choose to put in my body. When I came across this Black owned brand of all natural products it was a no brainer. To begin I chose their Turmeric and Ginger Toothpaste, Antibacterial Oral Rinse and I threw in the bamboo toothbrush for good measure. So far I have been very pleased with the products. They get the job done and there’s no concern about the ingredients. If you’d like to try any of the Smile Natural Products you can shop through my personal referral link.

5. Ear Parties

These days for me there’s no such thing as too many earrings, and if you disagree we can’t be friends! I have two piercings in each ear and I’ve been contemplating a third, but lately I’ve really been enjoying mixing and matching cuffs and bars that don’t require any piercings to create an ear party. Some days I go matchy- matchy. Other days I prefer an asymmetric look where the earrings in either ear don’t necessarily match. But either way, the more the merrier. My favorite places to shop for ear cuffs are the Bauble Bar and Melinda Maria. Carolyn X Love is a newer, small business that has some amazing pieces for building your ear parties. Be sure to check her out as well!

Tell me below if you have tried any of these things. If not, are there any you are considering now? Also, don’t forget to share with me your favorite things. I’m always looking to try something new!

Until next time, 💋 V. Richelle
