Spring Brunch OOTD: Tips to Avoid the Pastels

Spring + Brunch = Cute Spring Brunch Ootd.

B.Shanel

This Spring, I will be doing my best to avoid the pastels at all cost.
My Spring wardrobe will consist of bright- bold colors. It’s what my heart has been longing for since last November. Now that the weather is acting right, it’s time to get prepared.

When putting together pieces to add to my closet , I will definitely be looking for brightly colored pieces. I’ve actually even created a Spring color palette (see below) that I keep on my phone while shopping. I have found this really helpful when it comes to putting together the perfect polished look. As a matter of fact, I also have a few tips to help you put your Spring brunch ootd together. Excited yet? Keep reading.

Four Spring OOTD Tips:

One: The Primary Base Color

If you were a little hesitant before about the neon fad, this is a great alternative. Any bold brightly colored dress paired with comfy sandals, is definitely top of my list for my Spring Brunch Ootd. I would suggest wearing a primary color as your base. This could be a T-shirt, a dress, or even a colored pair of jeggings. (Yes colored jeggings are back in style)

Two: The Secondary Colored Accessory

Typically, one pop of color was all we needed, but that was so last year. Right? Who says that we can’t wear multiple pops of color? This Spring, try pairing two bright colors. (One warm and one cool) Whether you’re adding a bold bag, lip, or shoe; this is definitely a go for this Spring. I’m also really digging the monochromatic look as well, that includes the different shades of the secondary color. It’s timeless and a very put together look

Three: The One Neutral Piece

Any fashion expert out there will agree that every outfit requires one neutral piece. But this Spring the twist will be what we consider neutral. Try looking for a pieces that has a neutral base (i.e white, black, olive, brown) but also with hints of color. There are some great cardigans out there that can service as this piece. I’m especially loving this one linked here. The Candy Colored Striped Cardigan is definitely here to stay this Spring/Summer.

Four: The Matching Hardware

I’m sure by now that we all have noticed that most pieces of clothing and accessories have some form of hardware. (ie. zippers, buttons, chains, etc) This Spring and Summer, lets be a little bit more diligent on making sure our hardware goes well with our ootds. Example: Try pairing gold necklaces with a gold trimming on your sandals. Its an effortless way to look more put together.

To be honest, I actually came up with this combination by mistake. I envisioned an entirely different look when I first purchased this dress. Initially, I was going for a more business casual feel. But this dress it too fun to water it down with neutrals, so I decided to follow the four rules above to master the look below.

The Spring Brunch OOTD Accessories

I’m not sure if you all have noticed, but I’m not much of an accessory type of girl. But these accessories for Spring are a must have.
To complete the look and incorporate Rule #2, theses accessories are definitely the star players.

Let me introduce Ms. Celine. I absolutely love this bag. I can basically carry my life in this bag. This brightly colored bag is the ultimate Spring accessory. It’s definitely perfect additional secondary colored accessory.

Spring Brunch Celine Bag

I chose a pair of brown “neutral” dupe Hermès slides to complete the look. Depending on the brunch restaurant I may even bring my Madden Girl Cognac sandals, thus completing Rule #3. I purchased these shoes several years ago but I was able to link a similar pair below. To tie all of the accessories together, Rule #4, I chose gold/bronze hardware.

Okay ladies, so now that you have all of the tools to build your Spring wardrobe lets get started. I’ve personally picked out a few pieces below that I know you to will love.

Until next time loves.
