Candy Colored Stripes and Fringe

Spring Cometh

It’s official! Punxsutawney Phil has spoken and it’s gonna be an early spring for 2019! Ok… so maybe Phil doesn’t really know, but one thing we do know for sure is that spring cometh. She comes every year, like clock work right at the end of winter. While we have no idea of knowing when the weather will warm up and stay warm there is still no time like the present to start “brightening” up our wardrobes a bit with some bright candy colored stripes.

Each season I like to pick up a few new pieces to spruce up my wardrobe. While there may still be a lot of winter left, you shouldn’t wait until the start of a new season to begin thinking about clothes. The time to prepare and update your wardrobe for spring is now!

Candy Colored Stripes

The piece I’m sharing with you today is a great transitional piece. Depending upon the climate where you live, you can wear it now and well into the spring or even early summer. If you know me you know that I’m not big on colors. For the most part my wardrobe is pretty neutral. When I do go for color it’s usually one color at a time and I rarely choose pastels. However, I have recently been playing more with these types of colors, so I decided to add this cardigan from the Pink Lily Boutique to my wardrobe. I love the way this color combo looks and makes me feel. And I think the colors are flattering to just about any skin tone. If there is anything that says “spring” more than the pastel rainbow stripes of this cardigan, I don’t know what that thing is. This sweater is bright and bubbly, fun and flirty, and even though it’s so unlike anything I own, I also think it’s so very me!

Pulling it Together

The cardigan is a lightweight knit made mostly of cotton, so its perfect for cool spring mornings. Still, there aren’t any rules that say you can’t wear it right now. For the spring I envision popping this cardi on on top of all white. If you want to wear it now, I it think it also pairs perfectly with light blue denim and ankle boots. However, if you live in a colder climate I suggest replacing the cami with a long sleeved tee for warmth. The bottom line here is whether you choose to wear it now or later, this cardigan is a winner.

Flirting with Fringe

No matter when you decide to wear this sweater I think it pairs perfectly with a trend I can’t seem to get enough of lately, fringe. When it comes to trendy jewelry and accessories I like to keep it cheap and cheerful. These white fringe earrings are from Paparazzi which means they only cost five bucks. They are great quality for the very inexpensive price tag and make a nice statement. The best part is that if I decide I’m completely over this trend I haven’t broken the bank on costume jewelry.
